IFYE BOARD

The board is responsible for organizing the exchange/association and consists of following former participants.

"I grew up on a farm with crops and pig fattening in Billerbeck (Münsterland). After agricultural education and studying agricultural economics in Göttingen, I now work for John Deere in German sales. In 2012 I spent 6 months as an IFYE in Colorado and Michigan (USA). For me, IFYE is a big family and a network with incredibly interesting and nice people. The exchange enriched and changed me in many ways. By being involved on the board, I would like to help offer young people the same opportunity and actively help shape the annual meetings.

Maximilian Schulze Esking

President

"My name is Jens and I grew up near Oldenburg. I found out about the IFYE program at short notice in December 2010 and was so impressed by the idea of the process that I applied for 2011. So I spent three months in Finland, where I met a lot of nice people. This adventure allowed my IFYE spirit to grow further. Because of the individuality of each IFYE and their experiences, it is very exciting to exchange stories. All these special experiences and the ongoing contact inside and outside of Germany motivated me to get more involved in this association."

Jens Huntemann

Secretary

"I am Chiara and I grew up on a farm in the middle of Germany. Between my scool graduation and my studies (2012), I spent three months in Nebraska, USA, fulfilling a dream. I have been fascinated by the IFYE program for as long as I can remember, my father was also IFYE in the USA. We have also hosted many IFYEs in our family. Working on the board is a great opportunity to continue to be part of the IFYE program and to support the participants in their exchange."

Chiara Schwalenstöcker

"I'm Charlotte and I was an IFYE in Colorado and Michigan in 2011. Back from an unforgettable six months, I'm now working on the board. I'm in charge of the host family organization for our IFYE incomings in Germany. I come from Landau in the Palatinate, where I grew up on a winery. We often hosted IFYEs in our family, which got me excited about the program. I enjoy meeting new people and spend time in the nature."

Like my father, I traveled as an IFYE for 5 months in the USA, more precisely Colorado and Oregon (2013). I'm currently studying political science in Passau with a focus on economics and I'm happy to be able to support the board's work alongside my studies and stay in touch with the many IFYE friends and help continue this unique exchange"
